Is JustVoice really private?
Yes. By default, all speech-to-text processing happens entirely on your Mac using OpenAI's Whisper model. Your audio is never sent to any server. Cloud features are opt-in only and clearly labeled.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. JustVoice works completely offline in local mode. The Whisper AI model runs on your device using GPU acceleration. An internet connection is only needed if you opt into cloud transcription (Pro plan) or for account management.
What languages does JustVoice support?
JustVoice supports over 90 languages through the Whisper model, including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, and many more. Language detection is automatic.
How accurate is the transcription?
JustVoice uses OpenAI's Whisper large-v3 model, which achieves near-human accuracy for clear speech in supported languages. The optional AI cleanup further improves output by correcting grammar and formatting. Cloud mode (Pro) offers even higher accuracy via Deepgram's streaming engine.
Does JustVoice work with any app?
Yes. JustVoice works system-wide on macOS — dictate into any text field in any application. Whether you're writing an email, coding in VS Code, chatting in Slack, or taking notes, JustVoice inserts text wherever your cursor is.
How does JustVoice compare to macOS Dictation?
